The new design of the SM31 not only impresses with its size. The true-to-scale design reflects the massive proportions of the locomotive in an elegant way and still offers enough scope for the finest details. Three-dimensional engravings on the front end, openwork, fine fan grilles that provide a view of the rotatable fan inside, individually attached handle bars and the finest metal railings convince even the most demanding model railroader. Inside, the new PIKO design is also up to date. The locomotive is factory-equipped with a PluX22 interface, which makes digitizing child’s play for every model railway enthusiast. It is just as easy to retrofit a sound decoder and a loudspeaker with a maximum membrane area, which in combination ensure an optimal sound experience. With a variety of light functions, such as driver’s desk lighting or shunting step lights, the new PIKO model offers a wide range of play options, which are rounded off by silky smooth driving characteristics and high traction.
