The PIKO model of the 181.2 “Lorraine” shows all relevant details of its prototype and impresses with the finest paintwork and printing, raised name plates on the sides, extra front handles and door handle bars, sharply engraved bogie covers, fine insulators and pantographs with different contact strips. The lighting is done by LEDs. The standard built-in driver’s cab and engine room lighting can be controlled digitally like the taillights that function depending on the direction of travel. A powerful five-pole motor with two precisely balanced centrifugal masses, which drives all four axes, ensures excellent driving characteristics. The heavy PIKO model has two traction tires and a heavy zinc die-cast frame for high pulling forces.
