The modern design of the locomotive has been modeled exactly. The locomotive is painted in traffic red, including “DB biscuit”. The single-spar pantographs have been reproduced in an extremely filigree manner. Sharply engraved bogies round off the visual appearance. Upgradable brake hoses and sun visors are included to complement it. A powerful 5-pole motor ensures free travel. Equipped with two flywheel masses, the PIKO BR 101 stands out with its extremely smooth running. Two diagonally mounted traction tires provide traction when moving forward. The technical highlight is the built-in, digitally switchable driver’s cab and driver’s desk lighting. The light changes depending on the direction of travel in red/white, naturally executed in the most modern LED technology. In digital mode, these functions can be switched separately. This is controlled by a PluX 22 decoder. Simple digitization is already prepared by means of a plug-in interface.
