Power your favorite Amtrak(R) or regional commuter trains in style with a WalthersMainline F40PH on the job! Built especially for passenger duties, the prototypes entered service in 1976 and many are still going strong today. Based on Phase 2b prototypes, the models feature:

PLEASE NOTE: When operating Walthers-branded DCC-equipped locomotives in DC mode, do not use power packs that exceed an 18V rating. This includes MRC 1300-series power packs which have known issues with our decoders.  Alternate horns and bell sounds can be programmed on the sound decoder using these CVs:

Bells: CV164 = 0 – Graham White E-Bell (default)
CV163 = 1 – Nathan K5HLL
CV163 = 2 – Nathan K5H
CV163 = 3 – Nathan K5LLA
CV164 = 1 – GE Steel Bell
Horns: CV163 = 0 – Nathan K5LH (default)
